June Recap
In the month of June, I had consistent training leading up to my departure date on the 13th to Belgium with my team to begin our Olympic build-up.
Our two-week training camp did not start off too well, as two of my teammates tested positive for Covid upon arrival. They were then isolated for one week while my two other teammates and I carried on with training. We had some really tough track sessions and still kept up our kilometres on the road.
In the second week of the camp, we had three days with everyone back together, and then three of us departed to Ghent for three days of track racing. In the Madison event, my teammate Emily and I were in contention for a podium finish until Emily was involved in a crash with 18 laps to go and was unable to finish the race. Luckily, she was okay and was back training two days later.
This month has been one of the biggest months of training I have ever had, so while I am feeling rather fatigued at the moment, I can't wait to see the gains come through as we get closer to the Olympics! I am now in France for a two-week training camp on the road before heading to Grenchen for the final build-up with the rest of the Olympic track team.
