Family, friends and fun
Wow, now we are in November and only 2 training weekends left before event day.
October in itself was quite eventful for all the wrong reasons as family health issues took a priority over riding so only a few more short rides completed.
The magpies seem to have been behaving this season, even though my helmet is now complete with cable ties on top, and eyes on the back of my head. The traffic hasn’t been as friendly with some of my usual training roads now having increased flow due to the Highway 1 detours.
The hills are getting easier thankfully, and my foot is gaining enough strength that I don’t need a kerb any longer…just as well, as road works have put stop and go traffic lights in to hinder me.
So, with everything going on I have made the choice to change categories and ride the Length of the Lake with a couple of good friends, (shown below) - one who us new to cycling. We will have a really fun weekend, which it is all about ultimately, and hopefully next year will be back to around the lake.
So bring on the next few weeks, some sunny days and more training rides and looking forward to Event Day being fun with family and friends - not to mention all the new people you meet out on course also. Bring it on.
