October Recap

October and November were two jam packed months! From awards, to events, and everything in between.

October and November were two jam packed months! At the beginning of October, I received a Blues Award at the annual University of Waikato Sporting and Arts Awards night. Shortly after, I departed for Denmark to compete at the Track Cycling World Champs in the Individual Pursuit (IP). I was stoked to take bronze in the last ever 3km IP, which is now changing to 4km for women.

I then enjoyed a day out in Copenhagen with Dad, who flew over to watch me race, before heading back to NZ - only to depart again three days later for a two week holiday in Bali with some friends. I had the best time and loved every minute of my trip, from learning how to surf to taking sunrise jeep tours and swimming with manta rays and turtles! It was truly a trip of a lifetime and the perfect mental reset after a massive year. Once I got back to NZ, I started working almost full-time with Velobike as part of my internship, focusing on their social media and marketing strategy. I’m now in the last week of my four week work experience, and I’m really sad for it to end.

I’ve learned so much and feel like I’ve improved my marketing skills. The small team at Velobike has been incredibly welcoming and supportive, making it an awesome and fun place to work!

Over the weekend, I also competed in the Lake Taupō Cycle Challenge where I aimed to finish under 4 hours 30 minutes and beat my dad's best time. I ended up completing it in 4 hours 25 minutes, beating dad’s best time! This could possibly be one of the highlights of my career - now claiming all the family bragging rights!

Olympic Gala

A couple of weeks ago, I attended the 2024 Olympic Gala and Pinning Ceremony, where I was officially presented with my Olympic pin and unique Olympic number (Olympian #1396). It was such a lovely evening, surrounded by fellow Olympians and their supporters. My favourite part of the night was listening to the Q&A with other Olympians, hearing their incredible stories and journeys leading up to, during, and after the games.

Kim Manunui

Hi, I’m Kim and I work with a great team to help individuals, as well as small and not so small businesses get their message, product and services to the world using digital media and creating wonderful websites that don’t cost the earth.

I was born in Canada, and grew up around Vancouver and the mountains of British Columbia. My love of pristine environments led me to New Zealand and eventually to the mountains, lakes and rivers of the central North Island which is home. My family’s heritage is here, and it’s from here that Korio traverses the planet.

The digital world is never static and neither are we.

And I say ‘we’ because I work with an awesome group of talented people who I gather together as required to complete a project.  Whatever your business, not-for-profit or individual needs are we gather the best team to get the job done.

Collaboratively we are creative, share sustainable values and work hard for great outcomes because that’s the buzz of satisfaction that drives us.

If you have an audience and market to reach, we can make that happen. Creative design, words that work and smart behind the scenes stuff that cuts through the online noise. We’ll design your website and then build it. We’ll manage the content as well as all your hosting needs. We can handle your online advertising so you get noticed,
and we’ll manage your social media presence so you get the clicks, likes and engagement to grow your business. All within the budget you set, because none of this needs to cost the earth.  And the job doesn’t stop when your website goes live. We are your virtual business partner.
