December / January Recap

During December, I continued my internship with Velobike, focusing on marketing and social media.

I enjoyed my time there so much that I asked to extend my internship by another two weeks until the Christmas holidays, which they were happy for me to do. It was an incredible opportunity, and I learned so much from the experience.

At the same time, I got back into full time training, doing plenty of kilometers on the road and reintroducing structured efforts. Over the Christmas and New Year break, I took a short rest with a week of easy riding. I spent Christmas in Auckland with family and then went on a road trip with my partner and some friends down to Christchurch for a New Year’s festival. It was so much fun, but it was absolutely freezing!

In the new year, after returning to Hamilton, I flew back down to Christchurch for a track racing carnival on an outdoor velodrome. It was a great event and helped me get back into the racing mindset. The day after I returned to Hamilton, I flew to Wellington for two days to begin my second internship with Basketball New Zealand. I met the team and was introduced to the marketing and PR tasks I would be working on. So far, it has been a completely different experience from my internship with Velobike, but I’m really grateful for the opportunity to explore different aspects of marketing.

I also did a couple of track sessions with the New Zealand team to familiarise myself with the track bike setup and positioning. Now, I’m in Australia, preparing to compete at the Oceania Track Championships!

Champions in the Park

In December, the Waipa Council hosted an event in Cambridge called Champions in the Park. They invited a group of Olympians and Paralympians to bring their medals, participate in a Q&A session, and meet the public. Safe to say, I had perfected my signature by the end of the day!

It was a really cool moment reflecting on how, as a kid, I used to ask athletes for their signatures and now, I was the one signing.

Kim Manunui

Hi, I’m Kim and I work with a great team to help individuals, as well as small and not so small businesses get their message, product and services to the world using digital media and creating wonderful websites that don’t cost the earth.

I was born in Canada, and grew up around Vancouver and the mountains of British Columbia. My love of pristine environments led me to New Zealand and eventually to the mountains, lakes and rivers of the central North Island which is home. My family’s heritage is here, and it’s from here that Korio traverses the planet.

The digital world is never static and neither are we.

And I say ‘we’ because I work with an awesome group of talented people who I gather together as required to complete a project.  Whatever your business, not-for-profit or individual needs are we gather the best team to get the job done.

Collaboratively we are creative, share sustainable values and work hard for great outcomes because that’s the buzz of satisfaction that drives us.

If you have an audience and market to reach, we can make that happen. Creative design, words that work and smart behind the scenes stuff that cuts through the online noise. We’ll design your website and then build it. We’ll manage the content as well as all your hosting needs. We can handle your online advertising so you get noticed,
and we’ll manage your social media presence so you get the clicks, likes and engagement to grow your business. All within the budget you set, because none of this needs to cost the earth.  And the job doesn’t stop when your website goes live. We are your virtual business partner.
