RIDE FOR HOPE
Take part in the one of the biggest rides in the country and support our tamariki with free counselling, it’s a win/win!
We lose a young person to suicide at least every 64 hours in NZ! That is less time than you spend at the bach on a long weekend.
With your help we can ensure that no young person goes without vital support during the hardest times in their lives. Dealing with the stress and anxiety that is synonymous with being a teenager. Bullying, anxiety, worry about disappointing their parents, worry about fitting in, worry about climate change and the future of the planet as they get older, exam stress, body image issues, trying to find their place and way in the world and the list goes on.
It is a complex time to be growing up and our rangitahi need all the support they can get to make it through alive.
Become a hero and join the cause for a better tomorrow for our young people.
I Am Hope, founded by Mike King, has spent the last 15 years championing for change in the mental health space, creating positive societal attitudinal change around mental health.
We go into primary schools and deliver a free programme all around the country to educate our Tamariki about mental health, their inner critic (the voice we all have in our heads), all the emotions that are normal to feel in life including sadness, fear, anger, hurt, pain, not just happiness, joy and love. We set them up with tools to empower them as they grow and go through life so they will be able to face the challenges that will come their way eventually as they always do in this journey of life.
Through our platform Gumboot Friday we provide up to 3,500 free counselling sessions a month to anyone 25 and under in NZ, at the click of a button and within a week or two – not 6-18 months as it is in the current public health system!
Join us as a champion for change and show the young people in your life you are there to support them.
