The Lakesider is a safe entry-level, mostly off road, recreational challenge that showcases the best of this stunning region. It is one to really enjoy with family and friends and perfect if you’re a beginner looking for a casual ride, or want a fun, quality day out with the whole family. This leisurely 16km ride is mostly flat, very achievable and offers incredible picturesque views of Lake Taupo and the mountains beyond. This course is truly special and winds its way around the lakefront bays via the paths and parks Taupo is famous for. Have a picnic along the way at the aid station and soak up the views, or head to the finish line and take in the atmosphere of being part of New Zealand’s largest cycling event.
