Elite Men's Open
We are excited to announce that the Men's Elite Open has had a course change for 2020. The new course will start in Taupo, head along Pohipi Road, turn into Marotiri Road, then SH32 and continue around the stunning Lake Taupo, to finish on Tongariro Street at the event village.
A total Prize Pool of $9250.00 is up for grabs.
In order to be eligible to participate in this event all riders must be licensed Cycling New Zealand riders. If you think you have the goods, then get amongst it and pit yourself against the best Elite Men Riders in the country.
Please note we need a minimum number of riders to run this event.

|Age||Open to U19 or Senior riders only. Junior riders under 17 years are not eligible to enter unless you hold a 2020 or 2021 Under 19 Licence.|

- Entrants must have a 2020 or 2021 Cycling New Zealand licence – overseas riders must obtain an International Licence from their country’s cycling association.
- You must have a previous Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge best time of 4:15 or less
Any rider failing this automatic qualifying criteria is invited to submit any relevant performance details to firstname.lastname@example.org. Acceptance will be determined by the event organisers and Cycling New Zealand, and their decision shall be final.

Outside support permitted at the top of Kuratau, Waihi & Hatepe Hills only.
Photo finish with back-up timing.
Entries will be vetted by the Elite Men’ Open Manager and a Cycling New Zealand official.
Field limited to the first 100 accepted entries, plus 20 entries at the Elite Men’ Open Manager’s discretion.
The Elite Men’ Open is open to riders over 17 years of age as at 31 December
Podium presentation will take place at 1pm on the Main Stage
