Huka XL (MTB)
Ride in the Huka XL mountain bike race of the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge to be in with a chance to win prize money. The Huka Challenge and XL course is a mix of the Waikato River Course and the Craters MTB Park – Wairakei Forest. Entry criteria applies.
Most of the Huka XL ride will be on single tracks of Grade 2 and 3 with about 10% Grade 4. There will be a very small amount of road to ride (maybe a kilometre) and a 2-km section of 4×4 track – sorry but we have to link up the single tracks somehow!
Expect to get tight technical tracks up to Grade 4 all the way to Wairakei Resort Hotel, so don’t have a sleep on the job. The tracks are all in great nick and the new tracks have packed down and are real fun.
Total climb for the Huka XL is 2347m.
